How It All Started

Alternative Container began from humble roots. Initially operating out of a converted overseas shipping container, the company now occupies a modern, 55,000 sq ft facility. That growth is the product of our client-centered approach to doing business.

For 25 years and counting, we’ve earned the trust of funeral professionals through dependable products, fair pricing, and personal service. Our role is simple: to help you serve families with confidence and compassion.

What started as a modest set-up has grown into one of the nation’s most respected funeral supply manufacturers. Charles Jenson founded Alternative Container Company in 1999 with a vision: to deliver quality products to funeral professionals while keeping customer service at the heart of the operation. Charles brought a values-driven approach from day one and passed those principles to his children as they joined the company.

After graduating from Indiana University, Mitch joined the company full-time and stepped into the role his father had shaped before him. Today, he leads Alternative Container with a focus on doing what’s right for clients, employees, and families alike.
